Since we became a Collings dealer more than 10 years ago, the OM2H has always been one of our most popular Collings guitars. And that's for good reason—the OM2H produces balanced, complex tone that shines in a wide variety of genres, and its accurate, immediate response—paired with comfortable, small-body feel and smooth playability—appeal to a wide variety of playing styles.
This Collings OM2H (serial #29703) features a 14-fret "Orchestra Model" body built with the classic wood complement of a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides. Its tone is well-balanced and punchy. It responds nicely with a light touch, and finger-style players will appreciate the shimmering complexity of tones it produces. At the same time, it projects quickly and loudly, and when you push it hard with a pick, it sings across the room.
When we ordered this OM2H, we couldn't resist dressing it up with some high-end appointments. Collings is absolutely meticulous with their inlay-work, and this OM2H sports a stunning abalone "Torch" inlay on the peghead. To match the "Torch," we ordered this one with Ivoroid binding on the fingerboard and peghead. Also, we specified 1-3/4" on the nut width. The overall result is a guitar that looks every bit as good as it sounds. This OM2H is a gorgeous guitar that will inspire you to pick it up every day, and the beautiful tones it produces will ensure you'll never want to put it down.
