Released in the late-'90s, the Danelectro Back Talk serves up an interesting take on '60s reverse tape simulation. But because it was an expensive pedal (not to mention, one from a company known mostly for cheap pedals), it was never produced in high numbers. Because of that, the Back Talk is one of the most rare Danelectro pedals.
Fortunately, in 2020 Dano rolled out a reissue of the sought-after '90s pedal. The Back Talk Reissue produces the same sonic magic of the original, but in heavy die-cast housing that is easier to fit into a pedal board. The controls are the same, too: Speed, Repeat, and Mix. Simple and straightforward, but it gives you a ton of new territory to explore. Plus, the Reissue has a Relic finish that brings the authentic vintage look to your pedalboard.
The Back Talk circuit is known for the richest, tape-like reverse delay and echo effects ever created. While original '90s examples sell for big prices, the reissue gives you those sounds at a more accessible price.
This 202 Danelectro Back Talk Reissue includes its original box, which is marked as "Demo." From what we can tell, this may have been one of the first units that made it out into the world. It is gently used, and functions 100% as it should. There's nothing quite like the Back Talk. This unique pedal will find a home in every guitarist's rig.
