The Maruszczyk Frog was designed to be a sleek, comfortable instrument that is easy to pick up and start creating immediately. This Frog Omega 6a was made in 2018, and it features a six-string neck that is three-ply hard rock maple (built for stability). The streamlined neck joint makes the bass feel like it's all one piece . On top of that, this Frog has a headless design, which certainly gets your attention, but it's not just for looks. Headless basses are an easier choice for traveling, and they also stay balanced evenly on a strap. Plus, the tuning can be more stable on a headless instrument than with traditional headstock designs.
This 2018 Frog Omega 6a weighs in at 9 lbs 14.2 oz, and although it has a long 34" scale length, the entire length of the bass is less than 39". The Alder body has a Quitled Maple top that looks absolutely with a matte "Purple Burst Transparent" finish. . The Omega models come standard with Delano Xtender pickups and active electronics. Each pickup has a series/singlecoil/parallel switch, and then there is a master volume control, a pickup balance knob, a bass control, and treble control. With the Volume knob pulled out, you can activate passive mode for even more sounds.
This 2018 Maruszczyk Frog Omega 6a shows some superficial scuffs and signs of use, but it is in nice shape all around (see photos). There's one deeper scratch on the back by the battery compartment, and that's the worst of it. Compared to other six strings basses, it has a wide flat fingerboard that makes it play and feel a bit different. The action is super low, and the feel is very nice with a lighter touch. If you want to dig in, you may want to raise the action to prevent buzzing. The extended range of the six strings is a lot of fun to explore, and the flexible electronics provide a wide palette of possibilities. Original paperwork, spec sheet, and gig bag are included!
