2022 IBMA Momentum Band Award winner and 2022 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition winner, Michigan-based Full Cord releases their long-awaited album Cambium on Dark Shadow Recording.
Following three singles that received strong airplay, spending time on the Bluegrass Today Grassicana Charts, as well as a #1 for “I Laugh When I Think How I Cried Over You” (Bluegrass Planet Radio), Full Cord presents their full-length project Cambium. Comprised of a wide range of genre-appropriate tunes and themes, the collection ranges from light-and-bouncy to substantially deep. The popular Steely Dan cover of “Reelin' In The Years” is a long-time fan favorite, “Yellow Leaves Of Autumn” a classic western ballad, “Wild Mountain Rose” a Telluride-inspired cowboy tale, the painfully sentimental “Blue Trail” hits home in a big way, and their take on the Carter Family “Dixie Darling” is a sprightly turn towards the positive. That's just scratching the surface.
From producer Stephen Mougin: “We worked hard to capture some of the spark from their live shows. The material is complex, both musically and emotionally, and it was a fun challenge to dig deeper into those songs and find new ways to connect.”
