The Fishman Dual Parametric D.I. packs a high-quality preamp, a two-band parametric EQ, and a direct box into a cone compact unit. Designed primarily for acoustic instruments, this DI offers a high-impedance input suitable for piezo pickups, but it also works well for microphones and magnetic pickups. The two EQ bands give you the flexibility to set the frequency parameter so that it's most useful. Then, you have controls for gain (boost/cut) and bandwidth, allowing precise tonal shaping. There's also a phase switch to reverse phasing issues and a ground lift switch to eliminate unwanted hum. Power is supplied via a 9V battery or an optional AC adapter, with a Clip/Lo Batt LED indicator that helps monitor signal clipping and battery status.

This device is particularly effective for controlling feedback in live settings and for tailoring instrument tone in both live and studio environments. Its parametric EQ allows for surgical precision, so this DI is a valuable tool for musicians seeking flexible control over their sound. The Dual Parametric D.I.'s durable construction and comprehensive features have stand out from a lot of modern equivalents, and these were even made in the USA!

This 1997 Fishman Dual Parametric D.I. shows some minor paint chips and cosmetic wear, but it doesn't appear to have been used very much over the years (see photos). It functions 100% as it should, and the two-band EQ delivers more flexibility than you might expect. It's impressive in comparison to modern pedals. Plus, this DI is housed in a rugged metal casing, so it can handle the rigors of regular stage use. They don't make 'em like they used to!
