Jeff Tweedy is one of our heroes! His impact as a songwriter and guitarist spans decades, from his gritty alt-country beginnings with Uncle Tupelo to the ever-shifting soundscapes of Wilco, and beyond into his deeply intimate solo work. His playing and writing have always carried a raw, unvarnished sincerity, and his signature Martin guitar captures that spirit.

Reissued by popular demand, the 00-DB Jeff Tweedy fills an interesting void in the Martin line. Way more than a fancy guitar with a signature inlay, the 00-DB Jeff Tweedy is currently the only deep-body 00 in the Martin catalog. On top of that, it features a Mahogany top and Mahogany back sides, and stretching a bit further, it has a 25.4" scale length, which is longer than what you typically find on a 00. There's a dry, woody character to all-mahogany guitars that feels earnest and sincere. The deeper body offers added resonance and low-end warmth, while the longer scale length helps ensure clarity, punch, and dynamic projection.

At Tweedy's request, this model is constructed entirely from FSC-Certified sustainable woods. Let's be real, folks—it's 2025, and although the guitar industry has a minimal impact on deforestation, we can consciously support responsible sourcing of materials. Why not be a part of the solution? At the same time, you end up with higher quality woods when you go the FSC-Certified route, so it's a win-win. The Mahogany used for this one is beautiful, and all of the braces are carved from FSC-Certified European Spruce. That's an upgrade for sound, and this 00-DB Jeff Tweedy comes alive with a light touch but remains properly voiced to handle a heavy pick. It has more sustain and a greater dynamic range than we expect to find from Mahogany tops, and there's an overall openness that fits the vibe.

A lot of signature guitars have fancy, high-end details that make them seem more like jewelry than a functional instrument. But the 00-DB Jeff Tweedy takes on an understated, but elegant aesthetic that aligns with Tweedy's sincere and honest songwriting. The Tweedy Burst finish feels underplayed but distinctive, framed by simple tortoise binding. The neck features a modified V profile in a satin finish with a 1-3/4" nut width. White corian Foden-style inlays guide your way down the Ebony fingerboard—something different and up scale, but not gaudy and ostentatious.

This Martin 00-DB Jeff Tweedy is #106 of the reissue, and it includes a deluxe molded plastic hardshell case.
