Authentic mandolin “chop” is recognizable from the first strum, and it can only be found from an instrument with a true, hand-carved Spruce top. That’s why The Loar hand-carves the solid Spruce top on each LM-310F Honey Creek mandolin. The result is a mandolin that produces authentic 1920s F-model sound and still has enough vibration to cut through the mix in today’s ensemble playing. The Loar LM-310F sports a traditional “V” neck profile that fits comfortably in the player’s hand, so these mandolins are easy to play, even for beginning players. Combine the graceful curves of an authentic F-style body, Grover tuners, and D’Addario strings, and you’ve got an instrument that not only sounds great out of the box but also one you can hand down to the next generation of players.
While big box stores send these mandolins out without ever testing them out, Telluride Music Co. does a professional setup to optimize tone and playability on every The Loar mandolin. When these come from the factory, the setups can be rough, but we make every effort to ensure each one is playing 100% to its full potential.
The Loar mandolins do not include hardshell cases, but we have plenty of Guardian F-style cases in stock. The right case runs $89.99—just ask, and we can add one to your order.
