Finding a good way to amplify a banjo has never been easy, so why not go electric! The Gold Tone EB-5 is a way-cool electric banjo that has commanding stage presence and a ton of versatility. It gives you clean headroom without feedback. It can handle effects and distortion just like an electric guitar, and it's a lot of fun to explore those sounds through the banjo vocabulary.

The EB-5 generates classic banjo tone from a custom Remo pre-tuned eight-inch banjo head that never needs re-tensioning. That provides enhanced tuning stability, and it also means you won't need to make adjustments down the road. That small banjo head and proper banjo bridge are set into a carved mahogany body that feels like a solid-body electric guitar.

But what really makes the EB-5 special is the stacked humbucker pickup under the hood. It is specially designed for the 5-string banjo register, and it gets pretty hot. It's also quite friendly with various pedals, too, so you're able to explore totally new territory for the banjo.

From there, the EB-5 is set up properly with a heavy-duty Terminator tailpiece that can accept ball-end or loop-end strings. Planetary tuners and Gold Tone's "ZeroGlide" nut keep you in tune. It has a Canadian maple neck that balances nicely with the body, and unlike heavy resonator banjos, the EB-5 is an instrument that won't be a burden after long sets.

As part of Gold Tone's "Folkternative" series, the EB-5 brings new sounds and inspiration to traditional folk templates. Take your banjo picking to the next level! Plug in, crank up, and you'll be in a whole new stratosphere of sound!
