The Taylor 812ce represents a refined blend of craftsmanship, tone, and player-focused design. Its compact Grand Concert body makes it an ideal choice for fingerstyle players and anyone who appreciates a comfortable, intimate playing experience without sacrificing tonal depth. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, it delivers a rich, articulate voice with excellent note separation and a warm, responsive low end.
This 812ce was made in 2015, so it precedes the V-Class architecture and features Taylor’s advanced Performance Bracing, which offers an enhanced dynamic range and sustain while preserving the clarity and balance that the 800 Series is known for. Elegant appointments like Maple binding, a Rosewood pickguard, and intricate mother-of-pearl inlays add sophistication and class, while the onboard Expression System 2 electronics ensure it’s ready for stage or studio. Whether you're a seasoned fingerstylist or a nuanced flatpicker, this 2015 812ce won't disappoint; it offers a beautifully expressive and versatile playing experience, regardless of your playing style.
This 2015 Taylor 812ce shows some minor play wear and signs of use, but it's in nice shape all around. The worst is wear to the back edge of the headstock, worming on the top, and a small ding on the treble side (see photos). The previous owner upgraded many of the parts, including the nut and saddle which both are now beautiful hand-carved bone fittings. The tuning machines have been upgraded to gold Gotoh 510 tuners with a 21:1 gear ratio for precise tuning. At the bridge, this Taylor now sports upgraded bone bridge pins with abalone dots that were dyed amber by Bob Colosi.
This 2015 Taylor 812ce has a low, approachable setup, and it produces a sweet, balance sound. With the upgrades, this Taylor is a dependable guitar that could be a sincere workhorse, but it's also a gorgeous work of art with top-of-the line appointments. It includes its original hardshell case.
