Thanks to a classic wood complement, Bourgeois' advanced construction techniques, and their meticulous attention to detail, this Championship Dread is easily one of the finest-sounding dreadnoughts in the shop. It's no wonder it shares the same specs with the guitar Luke Lovejoy used to win the 2018 National Flat-Pick Guitar Championship in Winfield, Kansas. This guitar boasts a warm, yet detailed tone with a powerful, throaty voice. You won't be fighting in the mix with this one—it's a true banjo killer!
Handmade in Lewiston, Maine, this Bourgeois Championship Dread features an "Aged Tone" Torrefied Sitka Spruce top and beautifully-figured Mahogany back and sides. It was constructed with Animal Protein glue, and under the hood you'll fined Aged Tone Torrefied bracing. With such an iconic combination, it sounds like it should—this is a remarkable dreadnought. It is also set up nicely, and it plays evenly across the register. The subtlety of the tortoise-bound fingerboard and peghead is a classy touch that shows off the gorgeous Ziricote peghead overlay.
