There is nothing quite like the warm, rich and woody tone of an all-Mahogany guitar. Proudly made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, the Martin D-15M features a solid Mahogany top and solid Mahogany back and sides to deliver that specific delicate warmth and evenness. It has a solid rosewood bridge and a solid rosewood fingerboard, and it is setup with a bone nut, a bone saddle and open-back style tuning machines. Its tone is rich, warm and full sounding, but slightly restrained and with even projection and even response. Like most all-Mahogany guitars, it accompanies voice very nicely and performs well in front of a sensitive mic in the studio.
Like all of the 15-Series Martin guitars, the D-15M has a satin finish and minimal appointments. The result is an aesthetic that shows off the natural beauty of the mahogany and a price that reflects the instrument, not the frills. The Old-Style Script "C.F. Martin & Co." logo adds a touch of elegance. Like the Martins that came before it, the D-15M is a hard-working, USA-made acoustic that will do everything you could ask for. It includes a Martin soft case.
