Y'all... this particular 290 (serial #221719) may be the best one yet. The Collings finishing crew does incredible work. Even though the full-body "premium" finishes add $1,000 to the price tag, it's well worth the extra expense. I mean, how could you deny this Candy Apple Red 290? It's absolutely stunning, and the finish is almost three-dimensional. But we couldn't stop there—we ordered this 290 with white pickup covers, a Parchment pickguard, Ivoroid fingerboard binding, and way-cool white knobs. The contrast—white on Candy Apple Red—is over the top in the best way possible.
Beyond looks, this 290 is a formidable instrument that will inspire and push your music to new levels. It features a solid Honduran mahogany body, and it has impressive acoustic resonance which translates into deeply expressive electric tone. For pickups, Lollar P90s give you wide-open single coil bite and clarity. The Collings wiring harness lends a ton of versatility, too—highly usable on every setting.
