Collings started experimenting with mandolin family designs in 1999, and Collings quickly became some of the most highly-regarded mandolins made in the US. Constructed of the finest materials available and built with 21st-Century precision, Collings mandolins are serious instruments for serious players. Nowadays, Collings offers a limited lumber of mandolin build slots, so brand new Collings mandolin are hard to find and used ones don't come around often!

This Collings MT mandolin (serial #4675) was shipped in 2025. The MT is a straight-forward, A-style mandolin. Constructed of a carved Engelmann Spruce top with carved Eastern Flame Maple back and sides, it features Collings' Honey Amber blonde finish. The top is hard-carved to its own unique thickness to maximize the potential of the instrument. As a result, the tone is warmer and more-rounded than an F-style mandolin, and the mandolin has clarity without sounding harsh and thin. There is a resonant, sweet sound to Collings A-models—ringing sustain, a wide dynamic range, and impressive responsiveness make this 2025 MT a versatile mandolin.

Collings mandolins offer an elevated playing experience—an approachable 1-1/8" nut width and a 5-1/2" to 11-5/8" compound radius on the Ebony fingerboard. In your hands, the rounded V neck profile feels just right, and this MT looks the part, too! It is finished in an ultra-thin satin all-nitrocellulose finish is understated and shows off the quality of the woods, especially with the gorgeous Honey Amber color. The blonde—accented by tortoise top binding—will yellow and mellow beautifully with the years, too.

This 2025 Collings MT is very gently used, and the setup is low and playable as from the the factory. In your hands, you can tell it's a used instrument, but the only cosmetic note is a minor bump around the back edge (see photos). That's pretty much all we can find. Fret wear is a non-issue. It includes it original TKL hardshell case. If you need a hardworking mandolin that looks every bit as good as it sounds, this Collings MT is worthy of consideration!
