Melding vintage warmth with modern precision, the Strymon Brig dBucket Delay offers a spectrum of delay textures with a versatile range of delay times, spanning from quick slapbacks to cascading repeats. Brig delivers the warmth, subtle grit, and unique tactile playing experience of analog bucket brigade delays (BBDs), but in an ultra-modern digital package. It is loaded with slick features like USB connectivity, stereo outs, hold function, tap tempo, and a flashing LED that shows the timing of the repeats.
The Brig's dBucket sound generation offers three different analog delay voicings: 1) The 3205 voice delivers gritty repeats that can morph as it feeds back, creating sounds ranging from gorgeous slapback echoes to psychedelic sci-fi effects; 2) The 3005 voice recreates a dual MN3005 BBD chip circuit running at 15V for longer delay times, higher headroom, and warm repeats with a soft, dreamlike quality; and, 3) The Multi voice features two cross-coupled, super-clean dBucket delay lines with golden ratio timing to create complex soundscapes and a huge stereo sound field that remains musical and clean even while sitting on the edge of self-oscillation.
From there, the Brig has straightforward controls to dial in the right sound, and it also adds Modulation to color the tone of the repeats. The modulation function is individually voiced for each of the three delay modes, and it was carefully tuned to create beautifully lush warble at any delay time or modulation speed. Also- the "Filter" control helps you mimic the dreamy sound of analog delay by mixing in a subtle hint of noise. A whisper of gentle noise is part of the sound of bucket brigade repeats, and all the Filter helps the Brig replicate that sonic detail and organic behavior.
This 2023 Strymon Brig is gently used and functions 100% as it should. It is very clean cosmetically, and the previous owner installed micro dual lock velcro on the bottom. It includes its original box and paperwork.
