Nash Guitars approaches familiar American guitar designs with the care and attention of a modern boutique builder. With traditional styling, hand-selected woods, and high-quality components, Nash Guitars captures the feel and character of a treasured vintage guitar while offering the consistency and reliability of a contemporary build. To impart character and individuality, Nash has a refined their hand-aging technique. Rather than applying a uniform “relic” treatment, each instrument develops its own distinctive simulated wear, finish checking, hardware aging, and other details. With the hand-aging, a brand new Nash can replicate the charm of a vintage relic, but with the precision, usability, and full-range of a modern boutique guitar.

The JB63 is Nash's interpretation of the 1963 jazz bass. This JM-63 was made in 2022, and it has a classic Three-Tone Sunburst finish with a strong yellow undercoat that—with the relic treatment—gives it a '60s vibe. It has a contoured Alder body that feels comfortable against your both, both in your lap or on a strap. The bolt-on Maple neck has soft C shape and a slab rosewood fingerboard with Jester 47095 fret wire, and the scale length is 34". Under the hood, it sports two Lollar Jazz Bass pickups with individual volume controls to blend and a master tone control to further shape the sound.

This 2022 Nash JB63 is gently used, and it's hard to tell if there is any genuine wear beyond the factory aging. The worn finish on the back of the neck provides a smooth feel comparable to a played-in vintage guitar, but it plays with the precision, accuracy, and range of a modern 21st-Century instrument. True to the '60s-appropriate vibe, the nut width measures 1-7/16". It's a great player with nice action, and like any good jazz bass, it's comfortable for long sets and versatile for a wide range of genres and playing styles.

Nash guitars are meant to be played. This JB-63 is a hard-working bass with a vintage-inspired aesthetic, thoughtful modern refinements, and exceptional playability. With its classic Three-Tone Sunburst, hand-aging, and proven stage-ready hardware and electronics, this 2022 JB63 offers the the personality of a vintage instrument and the dependability of a thoroughly modern build. It includes its original hardshell case.
