The Taylor 100 Series provide rich acoustic tone at an accessible price, and the 150e 12-String may the best way to add shimmering 12-string sounds to your stable without breaking the bank.
This 150e was made in 2015, and like the rest of the 100 Series, it has a solid Sitka Spruce top. The back and sides are layered Sapele, which adds a touch more warmth than the Layered Walnut used on the newer builds. Really, though, the solid top is the most important component for tone, and it delivers! It helps the 150e have a bold, assertive acoustic sound with strong projection and clarity between notes. In combination with the dreadnought body, it makes this guitar an excellent choice for strummers who want the most out of the 12-string sound.
Over the years, this 150e has picked up some minor play wear in all the obvious places (see photos), but it is pretty clean all around and doesn't show too much beyond a faint scuff here and there. With Taylor's Expression System 1 electronics on board, it sounds just as good plugged-in as it does acoustic. It has a comfortable neck feel, and a nice low setup.
All in all, this 2015 Taylor 150e is a great value for the rich 12-string tone it produces. It includes its original Taylor gig bag.
