The MT Mandola has a 15.9" scale length, and it can be played just like a mandolin, but the CGDA viola tuning adds new dimensions of musical possibilities. With a hand-carved Adirondack Spruce top and Eastern Flame Maple back and sides, the MT Mandola is one of the finest professional-quality mandolas out there.
This MT Mandola (#4409) was built in 2021, and it features an upgraded gloss top finish. The previous owner added an armrest to the side, and although it can be removed, we think it's worth keeping around. There is some wear to the bass side area from the armrest, and there is a small ding on the treble side of the top. Other than that, there is some superficial wear and tear in various places, but nothing else worth mentioning (see photos).
This 2021 MT Mandola packs an impressive sound into an incredibly playable package. At first you might not even notice it's a Mandola, but once you hear it, you can tell it's something special! Its tone is big and full, and the low C tuning gives it more resonance and sustain than a mandolin. Plus, the different tuning opens up new musical possibilities, so it pulls new songs and ideas right out of thin air. This MT Mandola includes its original TKL hardshell case.
