Does pineapple belong on pizza? The Caroline Guitar Co. Hawaiian Pizza Sweet & Savory fuzz makes a convincing case! Designed in collaboration with Electronic Audio Experiments, the Hawaiin Pizza uses a cleverly voiced gain circuit that moves seamlessly from touch-sensitive overdrive to sputtery, broken-speaker fuzz. Three controls offer a surprisingly wide range of textures and sounds—"Pork" is input volume (and it works kind of like gain), "Pineapple" adjusts the bias, and "Pizza" is the output volume. Across the range, you can navigate to everything from smooth crunch to unstable, spitty fuzz chaos.
What sets Hawaiian Pizza apart is the dynamic and musical feel in every setting. Described as a “texture machine"—80% fuzz and 20% drive—it iscapable of thick, harmonically complex distortion that still cuts through a mix without the scooped mids common in vintage fuzzes. It responds well to picking nuance and guitar volume changes, so it can function as a characterful overdrive, a gritty boost, or a full-tilt fuzz. Whether placed early in a chain or pushed into an already driven amp, it remains punchy, reactive, and fun—a distinctive blend of chaos and control, only from Caroline Guitar Co.
This 2021 Caroline Hawaiian Pizza is gently used and functions 100% as it's supposed to. Apart from a few minor scuffs on the bottom, it looks practically brand new. It includes its original box and paperwork.
