The HeadRush Looperboard is a feature-rich loop workstation built for musicians who have outgrown the limitations of a conventional looper pedal. Designed around a large 7" touchscreen and quad-core DSP, the Looperboard combines a four-input looper with extensive audio routing, built-in effects, backing-track playback, MIDI control, and computer connectivity. It can function as the centerpiece of a live looping setup, but it also makes a great rehearsal tool with enough flexibility to accommodate much more elaborate arrangements than a typical stompbox looper.
At the heart of the Looperboard are four independent tracks, which can be configured in several different modes. The tracks can operate independently, remain synchronized, or function as separate sections of a song, making it possible to build arrangements around verses, choruses, bridges, and other sections rather than simply layering everything onto one repeating loop. Each track supports extensive overdubbing and manipulation, with functions including reverse, fade, transpose, speed adjustment, bounce, peel, and undo/redo. It packs nine hours of internal recording capacity, and additional storage is available via USB or SD media.
The connectivity is equally comprehensive. Four combo XLR/1/4" inputs with switchable phantom power accommodate guitars, microphones, keyboards, and other sources, while four assignable outputs provide considerable flexibility for routing instruments, loops, backing tracks, and click to a PA, amplifier, mixer, or headphones. MIDI In and Out/Thru allow the Looperboard to synchronize with external gear, while USB provides computer connectivity and 2-in/2-out audio interface functionality. Built-in effects cover guitar, vocals, lo-fi, dub, drums, and studio applications, and the onboard library includes more than 300 drum and percussion loops.
This 2020s HeadRush Looperboard is gently used, and it shows some minor cosmetic scuffs and scratches (see photos). It includes the original power supply, and it functions 100% as it should. For the player who wants considerably more control than a traditional looper can provide, the Looperboard offers a deep set of tools in a single floor unit.
