There’s nothing quite as sweet as an all-mahogany guitar. They’re warm and rich, dry and woody—a mellower, pretty tone suited for any style of music. The Martin 15-Series is a simple, no frills lineup of all-mahogany guitars made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. With the 15-Series, you’re not paying for fancy finishes or over-the-top inlays; you’re paying for quality tone woods and the refined sound only Martin can deliver.
Although it is now discontinued, the OMC-15ME is one of our favorites in the line. The Orchestra Model is the perfect mix of comfort, tone, and versatility. With the longer 25.4" scale, the manageable mid-size body produces a full sound without feeling huge in your hands. Constructed with Mahogany all around, the OMC-15ME packs a warm, balanced sound with nice response. Plus, the cutaway allows additional access to the end of the fingerboard fingerboard. Add factory-installed Fishman electronics to the mix, and the OMC-15ME is ready for the stage, too.
This OMC-15ME was made in 2020. It is gently used—it shows some minor wear around the edges, on the back of the neck, and on the bass side of the top where your arm rests across (see photos). Fortunately, there are no severe dings, gouges, or cosmetic issues—all in all, this is a nice second-hand Martin guitar. It is set up perfectly with low action, and it includes its original hardshell case.
