With the shape of a dreadnought, the Martin D-16E still captures the volume and power we could want. But with its 000-body depth (4-1/8"), it is exceedingly more comfortable on you lap. It's no surprise the D-16E has become a quick favorite around the shop.
The Martin D-16E Rosewood features the time-tested wood complement of Sitka Spruce and East Indian Rosewood. It has a resonant, throaty sound with tight bass and delicate overtones—very much the classic Rosewood dreadnought sound. But, its shallower body makes it so much more approachable without altering the tone profile. It also makes this guitar the world's first couch-friendly dreadnought. Under the hood, The D-16E is outfitted with Fishman Matrix VT Enhance electronics, which provide authentic acoustic tones plugged in.
This 2020 Martin D-16E Rosewood is gently used and it includes its original Martin Deluxe Soft-Shell case. It does show some superficial play wear in the obvious places (back of neck, pickguard, bass edge of the lower bout, etc—see photos). There are also two small bumps on the top, but the guitar is otherwise free of severe dings, scratches, or other cosmetic damage. It has no history of repairs or issues, and it plays great with low, inviting action and medium gauge strings.
