In 2019, Martin introduced an intriguing Limited Edition model with rare tonewoods: the 000E Black Walnut. Because Black Walnut is hard to find—and especially hard to deliver at a predictable price—this model was limited to 125 ever made. Nevertheless, this wasn't an insanely high-end model; it borrowed a lot from the more-affordable 16 Series. With a simple dovetail neck joint and satin lacquer back and sides, the 000E Black Walnut wasn't an over-the-top price, even though it had a rare wood complement, stunning Ambertone Sunburst top finish, and on-board Fishman electronics.
As a tonewood, Black Walnut is known for pleasing mids and clear highs. It's a great fit for a short-scale (24.9") 000. The 000E Black Walnut is a versatile guitar that is a natural fit for fingerpicking, but its sweet, clear tones also help intricate lead melodies cut through the mix. The Black Walnut back and sides are paired with a Sitka Spruce top. With classic scalloped Martin X-bracing under the hood, it's a well-voiced guitar that produces articulate sound.

This 2019 Martin 000E Black Walnut is in beautiful condition all around, and it shows only minimal signs of play and use (see photos). The protective film is still in place on the pickguard, and the frets are pristine. It arrived to us with the factory strings still in place. It's a gorgeous guitar with sweet tone. Its nuanced tone and high-end aesthetics make it feel like it should be three times expensive. Original deluxe padded gig bag included.
