Classic, compact, comfortable—great things come in small packages. The Martin 00-28 is one of our favorite small-body guitars. Its articulate, well-balanced tone is hard to beat, and its manageable 14-fret 00-body is feels just right on your lap—your dreadnoughts will be jealous.
The Standard Series 00-28 features the classic Style-28 wood complement: Sitka Spruce top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides. With scalloped braces under the hood, the 00-28 is quick to respond and deeply resonant. Its tone is rich in harmonics with nice woody bloom. With the updated prewar-inspired cosmetics (iconic herringbone purling, caramel aging toner, vintage-style decal, etc.), this 00-28 looks every bit as good as it sounds.
This 2019 Martin 00-28 shows some signs of playwear here and there, but it has been properly cared and finds us in nice shape with no repairs or issues. There is a small scuff on the top edge, close to the end block (see photos). The back of the neck is starting to feel nice and broken-in, and the current setup is excellent. Over the years, the aging toner has made the top subtly darken and mellow beautifully, so it's starting to look like a proper used Martin. It includes its original molded plastic hardshell case.
