The Electromatic Center Block Jr. guitars are designed to produce the pure and powerful Gretsch sound at high volume. Its slightly smaller Maple body has a chambered Spruce center block, so it retains hollowbody-esque dynamic response while mitigating feedback in higher gain situations. Plus, the smaller body is extremely comfortable and manageable, and of course it is constructed with all of the essential Gretsch style and flair you'd expect.
This 2018 Gretsch G5655TG is a Limited Edition iteration of the Electromatic Center Block Jr. It features a gorgeous Snow Crest White finish that is set off with Gold Hardware and a Bigsby B70 Vibrato tailpiece. It has a super-playable and bend-friendly 24.6" scale length, and it has a GraphTech NuBone nut that measures 1-11/16" wide. Its Indian Laurel fingerboards has a 12" radius and Neoclassic thumbnail inlays.
For pickups, the G5655TG uses Gretsch's "Broad'Tron" humbuckers. These pickups are fairly common in Gretsch's Electromatic line, and they're probably more similar to regular humbuckers than the Filter'Trons that clearly inspired their design. With a master volume, master tone, and individual volume controls for each pickup, these pickups can cover a vast sonic territory.
This 2018 Gretsch G5655TG Limited Edition Electromatic Center Block Jr. is in excellent condition with minimal signs of playwear and use. It was purchased new by an acoustic player who fell in love with its gorgeous stylings but admittedly never really took to the electric guitar. Because of that, it's about as clean as you could ask a used guitar to be. It is setup with inviting low action, and the intonation is spot on. The small 14" body is incredibly comfortable, and the white finish/gold hardware is such an unmistakably Gretsch vibe. It includes a Gretsch-branded gig bag that isn't a perfect fit, but gets the job done.
