The PRS P245 Semi-Hollow combines a 24-1/2" scale semi-hollow Singlecut body with an LR Baggs Piezo pickup housed in a wraparound bridge. Thanks to its carved Flame Maple "10-Top" and semi-hollow Mahogany body, it has no shortage of natural resonance and smooth sustain, and the piezo transducer adds a vast sonic landscape that set it apart from a regular Singlecut.
For the purest acoustic sound, the P245 has a dedicated Piezo output. Plug that into a good DI or acoustic amplifier, and you'll be blown away by how natural it sounds. While the delicate f-hole adds a nice aesthetic touch to the carved Flame Maple, it also adds natural resonance to the tone. Under the hood, two 58/15JM pickups provide rich vintage-sounding humbucker tone. True to PRS' reputation, these pickups provide thick electric guitar tone with singing sustain. Blending them with the Piezo pickup opens up a whole new palette of guitar tones—not necessarily electric, not necessarily acoustic. And when you isolate the piezo pickup through the right DI or acoustic amp, you can access convincing acoustic sounds, too.
