Since 1935, the Gibson Advanced Jumbo has combined graceful sloped shoulders with a 25.5" scale to deliver clarity, power, and balance in sound. Originally conceived as the top-of-the line flattop, the AJ is considered by many to be Gibson's best-sounding dreadnought guitar.
This 2015 Gibson Advanced Jumbo Maple Custom was built in Gibson's acoustic Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. While most Advanced Jumbos sport rosewood back and sides, this AJ has gorgeous Flame Maple back and sides, which provide woody clarity and mid-range presence. Its Maple is complemented with an Adirondack Spruce top. The result is a powerful, robust sound that—true to the model's reputation—is nicely balanced across the register. It also sports all of the appropriate Advanced Jumbo details, and its natural finish is accented perfectly with the signature tiger stripe pickguard. Its nut measures 1-3/4", and it has a classic Gibson full C shape neck.
This 2015 Gibson Advanced Jumbo Maple Custom is in excellent condition with some expected playwear, but it is very clean cosmetically and free of repairs or issues. It has a factory LR Baggs pickup. The previous owner built a perfect bone saddle that greatly improves the tone, but it wasn't sized for the pickup, so if you'd like to plug it in, you'll need to use the original Tusq saddle or adjust the new bone saddle. It includes its original hardshell case.
