The Fulltone Full-Drive is one of the most versatile and usable "screamer"-style overdrive pedals ever made. Based on the classic MIJ design, the Full-Drive is a hand-built, boutique pedal constructed of only the finest components. It features an overdrive circuit with an additional boost that adds its own separate gain control to push the pedal into medium to higher gain territory with singing violin-like sustain.
This 2015 Full-Drive is the version 2 model with the additional Mosfet circuit. It's loaded with flexible controls that dial in a wide variety of sounds. On the overdrive side, a three-way switch lets you choose between "Vintage, FM, and Comp Cut." Vintage mode is the most faithful to an early-'80s MIJ original. FM means "flat mids," so it eliminates the sometimes unwanted mid-range hump that is typical of this style of overdrive. Comp Cut eliminates the pedal's tendency to compress your tone, so this mode is the most wide-open, natural, and amp-like. The other mini-toggle lets you choose between Mosfet and Normal clipping modes. Normal mode is even more asymmetrical, sweeter and more open, with no "blanket" over the sound. But for the classic sound, Mosfet mode has you covered.
This 2015 Fulltone Full-Drive 2 Mosfet is in decent shape, and functions 100% as it should. The rubber feet have been removed from the bottom to make it more pedalboard-friendly, and someone installed velcro on the underside. The serial number label is a bit whacked out, too. It includes its original box. For any pedal-head, the FD2 Mosfet is a must try.
