Based on familiar slope-shoulder small-body guitars of the '30s, the Collings C10 is a leaner alternative, with a narrow waist and small upper bout resulting in a precise, focused response. This unique body-size allows for impressive clarity and note separation in the mid-range, and as we expect from Collings, its tone remains nicely balanced throughout the register.
This 2015 Collings C10 features the premium wood complement of an Adirondack Spruce top and Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. The upgraded tonewoods give this C10 a lot more power and projection, and unlike a Sitka/Mahogany C10, this one has powerful, tight bass response paired with shimmering, rounded trebles. This guitar will cut through the mix, but it remains sweet and clear sounding with no distortion, even when you push it aggressively with a pick.
This 2015 Collings C10 MR A also features a 1-3/4" nut width and 2-3/16" saddle spacing, so it definitely will catch the attention of fingerpickers. Nevertheless, it's versatility and power will win over any player. Also, let's be realistic–it's also gorgeous. We love the light color of the A-grade Madagascar Rosewood, and the simple, understated appointments (no fingerboard inlays, to boot!) offer a classy, refined aesthetic that lets the beauty of fine tonewoods do all the talking.
As for cosmetics, this 2015 C10 MR A is in excellent plus condition with no wear worth mentioning. It includes its original TKL hardshell case.
