On top of that, he was easily the most important guitarist associated with the Gretsch brand. His collaboration of Gretsch signature models began in the '50s, and—like Gibson and the Les Paul model—Chet Atkins models have been played by countless influential guitarists, not to mention the man himself.

Introduced in 1955, the 6120 Nashville is perhaps the most enduring Gretsch model that was famously endorsed by Chet Atkins. There have been many iterations and releases of this model over the years, and this 2014 G6120 is a Limited Edition release with a stunning Quilted Maple top. Based around the iconic 1959 specs, this 2014 G6120 features two TV Jones Filter'Tron pickups and a Bigsby tailpiece with a floating rocker bridge. The body measures 16" across the lower bout, and the sides measure 2-7/8" deep. The three-ply neck has a 1-11/16" nut and a medium soft V profile that feels fast and manageable, but still gives you something to grab onto.

This 2014 Gretsch G6120-59QM-LTD is very gently used. It shows some minor wear, especially across the top of the rocker bridge and the pickup covers which show tarnish from someone's hand resting across it (see photos). But all around, there's not much to complain about. True to the 1959 spec, it has a zero fret and Grover tuning machines. Combined with the rocker bridge, the result is impressive tuning stability for a Bigsby-equipped guitar. The action is low and extremely playable, and fret wear is not an issue whatsoever. It includes its original hardshell case and paperwork.

Because of the combination of the humbucking Filter'Tron pickups and the Bigsby, the 1959-spec 6120 became one of the most influential Gretsch hollowbody guitars. Brian Setzer relied heavily on this model in his rockabilly revival, and it's easy to see why. The Filter'Trons cut and bite, but they're also hum canceling. Because of the trestle-brace construction, these guitars are more resistant to feedback in higher volume scenarios. Gretsch has a style and vibe unlike any other guitar brand. Maybe it's the Bigsby, the elaborate f-holes, or the Western-styling—something just screams rock n' roll!

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0080/2930/6939/files/2014GretschG6120-59QM-LTD-Detail05_1cdf5f8a-5117-4bd7-9e3f-284296ebc894.jpg?v=1777321826
