Since we became a Collings dealer more than 13 years ago, the Orchestra Model has consistently remained our most popular body size from Collings. And that's for good reason, too—Collings OMs produce balanced, complex tone that shines in a wide variety of genres. Their accurate, immediate response—paired with comfortable, small-body feel and smooth playability—appeal to a wide variety of playing styles.
The Collings OM3 is a dressed-up Orchestra Model with a Sitka Spruce top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides. On an OM, the combination of Spruce and Rosewood is particularly appealing to fingerstyle players because of the balance, depth, and complexity it produces. But because of its articulate sound and immediate response, this wood complement finds appeal with flatpickers just the same. It's a template that seems to do everything well.
The OM3 adds delicate touches of class to the refined, nuanced tone of a spruce/rosewood Orchestra Model. With an abalone rosette, fingerboard binding, peghead binding, and gold tuners, the OM3 looks every bit as good as it sounds.
This 2014 Collings OM3 was custom ordered with Herringbone top purfling and a short 24-7/8" scale. The Herringbone is a sophisticated detail inspired by the original prewar OMs, and the short scale makes the attack much smoother and the response a bit more subtle. In many ways, the short scale makes this OM behave more like a 000. It also sweetens the high-end which can sometimes be a bit harsh and overpowering.

This 2014 Collings OM3 H SS is in beautiful condition and has no history of repairs or issues (there's not even a strap button drilled into the heel). It is a fantastic example of a Collings OM, and it is in practically unplayed condition. The frets are pristine and the setup is low and inviting. Original case included.
