The Fender Custom Shop '63 Telecaster may be one of the more versatile, more playable guitars the custom shop has produced. Borrowing heavily from the 1963 iteration of Fender's two-pickup classic, it also sports the Custom Shop's "Twisted Tele" pickups to give it a versatile tonal palette. The Twisted Tele neck pickup has taller magnets than a standard tele, and its cover is nickel-silver instead of brass like most tele neck pickups. The result is a brighter neck pickup sound with a ton of sparkle and clarity. In the bridge position, the Twisted Tele packs more mid-range punch, so it's thick and full sounding instead of thin and shrill. Of course, the middle position is where Telecasters get really fun.
Like every instrument produced by the Custom Shop, the '63 tele is built with an exceptional level of precision and attention to detail. The result is an excellent take on an iconic guitar template—this '63 Telecaster Relic is one mean tele, that's for sure. We love the Relic mojo which looks awesome in Faded Candy Tangerine finish.
