Every now and then, though, we come across a Collings guitar that is truly exceptional. This breath-taking 2013 CJ42 (serial number 21712) is among the finest guitars ever built on Highway 290 in Austin. It boasts an Adirondack top and beautiful Flamed Maple back and sides. Collings approach to style-42 appointments is absolutely stunning. We love the precise snowflake inlays on the ebony fingerboard, and the fit of the Abalone top border is impeccable. Its meticulous full-body sunburst pushes the overall aesthetic to a different level. As for tone, this CJ42 does not disappoint. Its voice is big and strong with classic dry Maple midrange. We love the balance of the CJ model, and the response and dynamics of this one are particularly impressive.
This 2013 Collings CJ42 is consigned to Telluride Music Co. from the personal collection of David Lamb, owner of Telluride Music from 1997 to 2017. It is in near mint condition with minimal signs of play and no history of repair or issues. This beautiful guitar includes its original deluxe hardshell case from TKL.
