While it might share a similar body shape and model number, the ES-330 really is its own thing. In the spirit of Gibson's extensive history of archtop jazz boxes, the ES-330 is fully hollow, providing a ton of natural acoustic resonance and warmth. It has the appropriate trapeze bridge, but it's a thinline archtop body with a double-cutaway, so it's way more comfortable and approachable. Plus, the ES-330 has single-coil P90 pickups for a dynamic, expressive feel. Warm and wooly on the neck pickup, but plenty of bite and snarl from the bridge without ever sounding thin.

Made in Gibson's Memphis facility, the '59 ES-330 celebrates the original 1950s classic. This Gibson Memphis '59 ES-330 was made in 2012, and it features the appropriate Vintage Sunburst top finish. The Maple top is fairly plain, but it shows some interesting grain from the right angles—a little more figure than you expect on the authentic '50s examples. Just like the old guitars, the back and neck have a plain brown finish, but the back on this 330 is intense! Very cool Maple figure that highlights the quality of the materials.

Striving for that '59 spec, this 2012 ES-330 has a full-feeling neck profile that measures .910" at the 1st fret and .980" at the 10th fret. The nut width is 1.720" and the scale length is 24-3/4". It has an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Kluson three-on-a-plate tuning machines. The setup is excellent, and fret wear is not an issue. This is a great-playing ES-330! The pickups deliver a ton of range, and you're able to dial in a wide variety of sounds with the volume and tone controls.

This 2012 Gibson Memphis ’59 ES-330 is gently used and in fantastic condition. Really just nitpicky cosmetic stuff... There are some finish checks in between the bridge and treble pickup and another finish scuff on the treble horn of the top. The pickup covers show some wear, and the knobs are cracked on the inside through the clear part (which doesn't affect functionality whatsoever). As is typical of Gibsons with fret nibs, the binding shows small cracks at the fret ends. There's also perhaps a skosh of snark wear to the back of the headstock. That's about as picky as we can get for a used guitar! It includes its original case and Certificate of Authenticity.

If you're looking for a hard-working 330, this 2012 Gibson Memphis ’59 ES-330 is a serious machine! Gibson Memphis has a reputation for building substantial guitars, and this one will show you why; it's about as nice of a 330 as you can find.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0080/2930/6939/files/2012GibsonMemphis_59ES-330_R26831_-Detail05.jpg?v=1776895192
