When the TC Electronic Flashback rolled out, the sounds, the vibe, the Toneprints—really the entire package—brought about new levels of expression. It's no surprise the Flashback quickly became a popular delay found on many pedalboards. But as more and more musicians adopted it, TC Electronic got a feedback on how they could make the Flashback even more usable (presets, tap tempo, etc.), and they listened!
The Flashback X4 features 16 different delay types, everything from the industry-standard TC 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay to beautiful analog tape echoes. It also includes Reverse Delay and a Looper function. While the original Flashback only has one stomp switch, this one has three different switches which can be assigned to different presets. This allows you to explore the wide range of Flashback sounds, and then easily switch between flavors. From there, the fourth footswitch is a tap tempo, so you can set the delay time as precisely as you need to. The Flashback X4 operates in True Bypass, and it can also run in true stereo. It even has midi connection to explore even further.
This TC Electronic Flashback X4 is gently used, and it functions 100% as it should. It shows some scuffs and signs of use, but nothing too bad (see photos). There is a little residue around the knobs from markers for settings, and the inputs are marked with red and white tape for stereo use. There is velcro installed on the underside, so this secondhand Flashback X4 is ready to bring new dimensions to your pedalboard!
