In the 1960s, the distinct sound of the Rickenbacker 12-string became a hallmark of rock and pop music. Bands like The Beatles, The Byrds, The Who, and later, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (as well as R.E.M) used Rickenbacker 12-strings to craft instantly-recognizable sounds. Rickenbacker continues to build 12-string models, borrowing from the best of the original '60s designs.

On the cover of his classic album "Damn the Torpedoes," Tom Petty is holding a gorgeous Fireglo 660/12. Since that album became a classic, this solid-body 12-string Rickenbacker has become the stuff of legend. Interestingly, Tom and Mike Campbell got their 660/12 because it was cheap. The Beatles, The Byrds, and others used the larger, semi-hollow Ric 12s, so the 660/12 was overlooked at the time. But they discovered the small-body comfort—paired with solid-body sustain and clarity—provides a fantastic take on the Rickenbacker 12-string.

This Rickenbacker 660/12 was made in 2010, and it proudly sports the classic Fireglo sunburst finish. In many ways, it's a faithful recreation of the '60s originals. It features two Toaster pickups with the traditional Rickenbacker wiring and controls. It has the proper "Sharkfin" inlays, and a trapeze bridge with the '60s-appropriate bridge cover. Gold two-level pickguard, and of course the checkerboard binding around the edge. This is a proper Rickenbacker 12 with a lot to offer!

This 2010 Rickenbacker 660/12 is gently used. Honestly, there's not much to argue with condition-wise—you can tell it's a used guitar, but there's not anything worth mentioning. Just a fantastic used guitar! The nut measures 1-11/16", and the neck carve feels smooth and playable. The action is nice and low at the moment, so it plays really nicely all the way up the fingerboard. It includes its original case and paperwork. The case has a "Bruce Kulick" sticker on it, so if it's good enough for him, you know it'll do the trick.
