Nothing quite embodies the Rock n' Roll attitude quite like a Gibson Explorer. With its radical, futuristic shape and powerful tone, it exudes rebellious energy and swagger. From metal to blues, the Explorer stands out both visually and sonically—loud, proud, and built to turn heads.

This Gibson Faded Explorer Studio was made in 2008, and it features a stripped down aesthetic with a Worn Brown lacquer finish. Constructed of lightweight, resonant Mahogany, it has natural sustain and woody character. For pickups, this 2008 Explorer Studio is outfitted with a set of Gibson-USA humbuckers: 490 R in the neck, and 498 T in the bridge. Perhaps the most common pickups in modern Gibsons, this setup adds modern twists to the classic PAF design. With the volume control wide open, this Explorer Studio can push the front-end of any amplifier for beefy, sizzling overdrive that boosts any guitar's power and presence. But when you roll off on the volume, the tone mellows out while remaining full and articulate.

This 2008 Gibson Faded Explorer Studio shows some wear from the years (see photos). The Worn Brown finish is intentionally thin, so it will pick up wear more easily around the edges. We've done our best to capture the worst in the photos, so take a look through the complete photo set. There's nothing too bad and more importantly no breaks, damages, repairs, or issues. The setup is low, and the bigger fretwire makes it feel touch sensitive and responsive. Fret wear is minimal, too. The strap buttons have been replaced with buttons for Dunlop strap locks.

This 2008 Gibson Faded Explorer Studio is a ripping rock and roll machine. It is nice and lightweight, and it balances properly on a strap. It includes its original hardshell case, which is pretty big but everything you need to keep this Explorer protected on the go.
