It starts with a D-35 template, but with the addition of a large soundhole, just like the Clarence White\/Tony Rice D-28. Traditional 25.4\" scale length with an Adirondack Spruce Top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides. But interestingly, the center wedge on the back is Flamed Koa. A gorgeous detail, but also a way to subtly color the tone. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the headstock, this Custom Shop lefty sports a stunning Alternate Torch inlay made of colorful greenheart Abalone. There are no inlays on the dark Ebony fingerboard, but the side dots are Abalone to match the torch. Herringbone trim around the top matches the Style-28 Zig-Zag strips across the back. Under the hood, this D-35 features scalloped 1\/4\" Adirondack Spruce braces, so this presentation piece is also optimized for sound. A 1-3\/4\" nut width and Modified V neck profile make the guitar feel like a proper Martin, and at the moment, the action is nice and low with Medium Gauge strings. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo top it off, this Custom Shop D-35 includes a reverse left-handed Calton Case with a \"C.F. Martin \u0026amp; Co\" decal and the Custom Shop badge. This is a substantial way to properly protect such a fine guitar! All around, this lefty is in nice cosmetic shape, too. It shows some minor play wear and signs of the use (see photos). In particular, there are some scuffs on the back and treble side where it sits in your lap. The previous owner installed a strap button on the heel and a K\u0026amp;K Pure Mini pickup. Also, the binding has been reglued at the end of the fingerboard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePackaged with the way-cool case, this Custom Shop Martin is about as nice of a left-handed guitar as you're likely to find.
