At some point, we've all sung along to the classic rock anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It." Admit it, you might have even yelled that chorus at the top of your lungs. Because of that hit song alone, Twisted Sister occupies a unique space among rock and roll legends, so it's no surprise guitarist Jay Jay French has a signature Les Paul Standard model. Considering Twisted Sister's vibe and ethos, it should also come as no surprise that Jay Jay's signature Les Paul comes in hot pink.
This Jay Jay French Signature Les Paul Standard was made in 2005 by Epiphone's "Elitist" team in Japan. Made in the Terada and Fuji-Jen facilities from 2002 to 2008, the Elitist Series intended to bridge the gap between lower-quality Epiphone imports and more-expensive USA-made Gibsons. Across the board, Elitist guitars demonstrate a sincere jump in craftsmanship as well as parts and attention to detail.
This 2005 Epiphone Elitist Jay Jay French Les Paul Standard shows some very minor playwear, but it is in excellent, collector-level condition with no damages, cosmetic blemishes, or issues. While a lot of Epiphones are built with inferior electronics, this Elitist Jay Jay French LP was outfitted with Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups, complete with the iconic "Patent Applied For" stickers. On top of that, it's a genuine mahogany body with a maple top, bone nut, and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines—the Elitist Series did not skimp on the details.
This 2005 Epiphone Elitist Jay Jay French Les Paul Standard looks the part in its signature Pinkburst finish. On the headstock, the Twisted Sister "TS" screen print is a nice touch, too. This 2005 Jay Jay French LP is in such nice condition—almost unplayed—and it has a low, inviting setup with a '60s slim-taper neck. Ready to shred! It includes its original hardshell case.
