Fender launched the Plus Series in 1987, and at the time it was the highest level of production short of the Custom Shop. Because of that, the Plus Series models were packed with the era's most advanced features and designs. While the Stratocaster Plus and the Telecaster Plus are both well known, too many people are sleeping on the Precision Bass Plus! It's a sweet bass with a lot to offer, chock full of cutting-edge technology straight out of the late-'80s.

The Precision Plus was one of the first American-made basses to feature a 22-fret neck, which causes the Alder body to be a slightly oversized shape with dramatic cutaways. For pickups, it has a Lace Sensor Precision pickup as well as a Lace Sensor Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge position. Via the three-way switch and a series/parallel push button, you're able to access a wide range of sounds. Plus, the tone knob features a TBX Tone Control, which adds another layer of dimension as you turn it up.

From there, the Precision Bass Plus sports heavy-duty hardware. It has a high-mass Schaller bridge with fine tuners and large-button Fender tuners. While most P-Basses have a wider nut width, the Precision Bass Plus has a Jazz-Bass-inspired 1.5" nut, which makes the neck feel smooth and fast.

This 1992 Precision Bass Plus looks the part in its Midnight Blue finish with original pearloid pickguard. It shows the general wear and tear of a 30-year-old instrument, but it has been spared any severe dings, scratches, or other unsightly cosmetics. It has no history of repairs or issues, and it still has all of its original parts and components. The frets have plenty of life left, and the action is excellent. It includes a Fender tweed case, which has a slight smoky smell but we've been able to air it out and minimize that as much as possible.
