But fortunately the bridge doesn't appear to have lifted and or become an issue, and the bridge plate is original as well. The nut is likely replaced, and even though the 3rd and 4th string pegs are bent, the original tuners still hold tune properly. The frets may be original, and the neck joint may also be original. There are nicks, scratches, bruises, and of course the obvious play wear, especially on the top. The finish is worn thin on the back of the neck, behind frets 1-4, evoking a smooth, authentic vintage feel.
This 1931 Gibson L-00 is a fine example of the early 12-fret specs, and it's also an inspiring guitar with deeply nuanced sound. It plays every bit as nicely as could ask from a prewar guitar.
