Local guitar-builder Alder & Main was born just a few blocks down the road from our shop in Telluride, Colorado. In their condo's parking garage, husband-and-wife duo Jamie and Christianna Catchpole began experimenting with fine tone woods and exploring their own intriguing guitar designs. Now relocated to a proper wood shop in nearby Norwood, Colorado, Alder & Main have really begun to hone their craft. Using the finest materials and components available, each Alder & Main guitar is built by hand with the utmost care and attention to detail, right here in the San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado.
The "Ziricote Tele" began from experimenting with high-end tone woods. It features a stunning book-matched Ziricote top, and according to A&M it was a wonderful wood to route and shape compared to those used in other builds. Underneath the Ziricote, there's a three-ply body with a Zebrawood centerpiece and two Sapele wings. The body has been routed to be almost completely hollow. While this design helps to give the guitar an almost-acoustic resonance, it also greatly reduces the weight (8 lbs 0.8 oz).
From there, the Ziricote Tele has a Warmoth Maple neck with an Ebony fingerboard and matching Ebony knobs. It's set up like an Esquire with a single Lollar Novel 90 in the bridge position. It has Medium Jumbo frets, Gotoh vintage-style tuners, a TUSQ nut, a Chrome-plated Hipshot bridge, Chrome control plate, and a Chrome pickup mounting bracket.
The Ziricote is a visually-striking guitar built with the right components to make it an expressive instrument capable of pushing your music to the next level. It includes a hardshell Fender case.
