A division of Circle Strings in Burlington, Vermont, Iris Guitar Company is a small team of seasoned luthiers, dedicated to building modern instruments that capture vintage-inspired tone and aesthetics. Iris Guitars are handmade using a combination of state of the art techniques and old-world craftsmanship.
The D-WH is Iris' approach to the traditional square-shoulder dreadnought. Named after Will Hylton, Iris' Chief of CNC, the D-WH has a full 25-1/2" scale length. This D-WH (serial #1673) features an Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, which delivers a warm, woody dreadnought sound.
From there, this D-WH sports an Iced Tea Burst with Ivoroid binding and Iris' understated Flower logo on the peghead—classic style to match classic tone! Just like the iconic dreadnoughts of the '30s, this D-WH has a 1-3/4" nut width. The neck profile is a comfortable round carve. Like every Iris, it feels much lighter weigh than you expect—how many dreadnoughts clock in under 4 lbs? Great guitar!
