This L-DBO features Walnut back and sides that are out of sight. The figuring is stunning, and the Walnut helps produce clear, bright tone. Whether fingerpicked, flat-picked, or strummed, each note articulates beautifully and captures its own character. From there, the details are elegant and artfully crafted, allowing the natural beauty of the Adirondack and Walnut shine through. This L-DBO has a figured Ziricote fingerboard with a dark stripe running through it, and Ivoroid binding around the boyd, neck, and peghead. The body is finished with Bourgeois' Aged Tone finish, which is a special mix of lacquer intended to let the wood breathe. Combined with the other Aged Tone features—torrefied top, torrefied bracing, and animal protein glue—this guitar delivers a "broken-in" vintage tone right out of the box.
