The CEO series was originally designed by Chris Martin, so it's cool to see Thomas Ripsam—Martin's new CEO—carry on the torch with the CEO-10. This is an impressive Limited Edition Martin guitar with several high-end details that set it apart from the rest. Designed by Thomas Ripsam and built from woods he selected, the CEO-10 model is limited to 100 total guitars.
The CEO-10 starts with a 14-Fret 000 body and a 24.9" scale length. It has an FSC-Certified European Spruce top and Guatemalan Rosewood back and sides. This combination delivers balanced, complex tone with brilliant trebles, smooth articulation, and singing sustain. Under the hood, the scalloped X-Braces are cut thin to 1/4", and they're made from the same FSC-Certified European Spruce as the top. Because of the lightweight, carefully-voiced bracing, the CEO-10 is a responsive, expressive instrument. A natural fit for fingerstyle guitar, this 000 will shine in every setting.
From there, the CEO-10 is styled out to the max, and it has two details never before seen on a Martin model: 1) The Guatemalan Rosewood peghead overlay has both a torch AND the inlaid "C.F. Martin & Co." script. 2) The Guatemalan Rosewood pickguard is both inlaid with greenheart abalone AND inlaid into the top itself. These high-end details push the CEO-10 beyond your average Limited Edition guitar. You've seen Style-42 top border, you've seen 1933 Ambertone Sunburst finishes, and of course you've seen Flame Maple binding. But that pickguard?? My goodness, it is stunning. And the peghead?? Too cool.
