Building from Kauer's hugely-popular Titan series, the Korona is a California classic reimagined. Alder body, 25.5" scale with a bolt on Maple neck—the result is a highly customizable template that is versatile in every setting. Twang? Sure we can do that. Jazz? I guess why not. Full out rock and roll? Bet your ass buddy. The Korona is a comfortable body with a lightweight feel, and with Kauer's wide variety of options, the Korona can do whatever you need.
Kauer built this Korona (#354) in 2023. With Lollar Jazzmaster pickups and a Descendant Vibrato system, the goal here was to capture the pre-CBS JM vibe. Alder body and a gorgeous Roasted Maple neck with a Wenge fingerboard. The Charcoal Frost finish absolutely pops, and this one includes a choice of pickguards. In keeping with the '60s custom color mojo, the spec list originally called for a Mint Green pickguard. But after putting the finishing the body, Kauer recommended a bold Red Pearloid guitar. The look is loud and will definitely turn heads. It's undeniably cool, but maybe not for everybody. So if the Red just isn't your style, swap it out for the Mint Green guard—it looks just as good. Each pickguard comes with its own matching kill switch, too. Which one is your favorite?
This 2023 Kauer Korona shows some very faint signs of play and use (see photos), but it's about as clean as you could ask from a used guitar. The previous owner experienced some metallic rattle from the bridge saddles vibrating against each other, so self-adhesive felt has been added to cushion in between them. Easily removed if desired, but does not affect the playability whatsoever. This Korona includes its original MONO bag and spec sheet.
