Introduced in 1933 for the Chicago "Century of Progress" World's Fair, the Gibson L-Century of Progress is essentially an L-00 with curly maple back and sides and an over-the-top pearled fingerboard you can't miss. But in today's vintage market, the L-Century of Progress is more than a rare, sought-after piece of Gibson ephemera—it's a killer-sounding prewar small-body with the glassy clarity you can only get from maple.

This 1937 Gibson L-Century of Progress is in Very Good condition. It packs unique prewar small-body tone, and its V neck profile feels straight out of the dust-bowl era. It is consigned to Telluride Music Co. from the personal collection of  of Sandy Munro, vintage guitar historian and former owner of The Great Divide Music Co. in Aspen, Colo.
