Nowadays, the Fender Custom Shop produces unique Stratocasters based on historically-relevant pre-CBS Fender specs. With the Heavy Relic finish treatment, each individual Custom Shop strat captures its own character, and no two come out exactly the same. By experimenting with different pickups, each one can have its own distinctive voice, too. As to be expected from the Custom Shop, every detail of the build is executed on a high level. The quality is unmatched.
This Fender Custom Shop '62 Stratocaster features a Heavy Relic Surf Green finish and the hot-rod HSS pickup configuration. It sports a 1960-style tortoiseshell pickguard that has also been relic-ed to match as well as relic hardware and strews. Because of the relic treatment, the Surf Green has taken on an interesting light turquoise hue, and it clashes with the tortoise guard perfectly. It's an eye-catching guitar, and the humbucker in the bridge gives it a powerful voice that will get noticed, too.
In the neck and middle position, this '62 Stratocaster Relic is set up with two hand-wired '60s Strat pickups (that are reverse wound, reverse polarity to minimize noise). In the bridge position, it has Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck humbucker. The Jeff Beck may be one of the most popular humbuckers in the world, and for good reason, too! It is versatile, and it's known for singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion. With the volume knob and good right-hand dynamics, you can find sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll and everything in between.
This 2021 Fender Custom Shop '62 Stratocaster is is in mint, unplayed condition. It includes its original Certificate of Authenticity, all of its original paperwork/hang tags, and original case.
