With vintage-inspired X-bracing, Flame Maple back and sides, and only 12 frets clear of the body, the Waterloo WL-12 evokes the very soul of prewar small-body acoustic guitars. Thanks to the 12-fret construction, its bridge is positioned closer to the center of the lower bout, allowing for rich open tone that accentuates the bass frequencies much more than your average small-body guitar. With such a warm, responsive sound, Maple back and sides are the perfect fit. Maple adds focus, projection, and a pronounced front-end attack to balance things out.

This Waterloo WL-14X (serial #WL3377) sports a stunning Jet Black finish with a Tiger Stripe pickguard to provide more the perfect constructing flair. It has a 1-3/4" solid Ebony nut and a comfortable "Moderate Oval" Neck Profile. This one also has a fully-adjustable truss rod and a drop-in saddle, and it is almost impossibly lightweight at a mere 3 lb 5.8 oz.

This Waterloo WL-14X nails the Depression-era flat-top sound, and it was built with every bit of the quality you'd expect from the folks at Collings. We love how sweet and subtle it can be with a light, finger-style touch, but it's also fun to hear it growl when you dig in. There are plenty of songs in this guitar, and it's a natural fit for the Blues.
