In 1919, Martin built one of the more interesting one-off guitars in the company's history: a 000-30. In the era of parlor music, a 000 body was a massive guitar, and the unique Style 30 features—such as abalone rosette, short pattern snowflake inlay, and multi-color stripe top purling—further established that this was a special instrument. Martin has of course continued to build 1,000s of 000 bodies, but for whatever reason, they discontinued the rare Style-30 in 1921. Interestingly, the sole 1919 example is the only instrument that combined the 000 body with Style-30 appointments.

Thankfully, Martin introduced the 000-30 Authentic 1919 in 2017. This model is a spectacular addition to the already impressive Authentic Series. This 000-30 Authentic 1919 features a Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top and book-matched Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. Like every instrument in the Authentic Series, this guitar was meticulously constructed using hide glue, and every feature of its specs matches the 1919 example. We are blown away by the response of this instrument, and its clear, crisp tone is nicely balanced with impressive sustain and quick projection. Its wide 1-7/8" nut width is a great fit for finger-style players, and it also provides an authentic parlor-era feel that matches its Authentic 1919 soft V neck profile. As for aesthetics, it doesn't get much more striking than Style 30, and we love the Vintage Gloss finish on all the Authentic models.

Without a doubt, this Martin 000-30 Authentic 1919 is one of our favorite guitars in the shop. After the first chord, you'll understand why. This guitar has been loved but rarely played. There are a few pick swirls/marks, but it is otherwise in near-mint condition.
