If you haven't checked out Eastman lately, you are sincerely missing out! Eastman has carved out a niche by delivering hand-crafted instruments at a price point that is way more accessible than their American-made counterparts. Because of combination of quality construction, the right materials, and a price tag that is easy to swallow, Eastman has become the go-to for players of all levels.
The intention behind the Eastman AR805 is pretty clear—this is a 16" archtop that pays homage to the Lloyd Loar examples made in the late '20s. The AR805 has two traditional f-holes, a carved Spruce top, carved Maple back and sides, an elevated Ebony fingerboard, an Ebony bridge, and an Ebony tailpiece. It's the perfect guitar for swing, Gypsy jazz, fingerstyle jazz, Old Time, or any genre that calls for the rich and satisfying tone of a well-made archtop guitar.
This AR805 was made in 2022, and it finds us in gently used condition. It has a strap button installed on the neck heel, and it is an excellent player. Eastman builds this model with a 25" scale, a 1-3/4" nut width, and an approachable C-shaped neck carve. With a 12" radius and Medium Jumbo frets, this AR805 plays with modern precision—notes ring out clear and true with peopler intonation and none of the quirks you often find from vintage examples.
This 2022 AR805 is in nice cosmetic condition. It has been played, so there's some superficial play wear. But fortunately no dings, scratches, or cosmetic damage—just a quality used guitar. It includes its original case, which has a few scuffs, scars, and scratches, but still protects the guitar like it should.
